a) String Anchor Grommets guide the strings through to the bridge slots and provide secure and durable seats for the strings' ball ends. Through-body stringing markedly improves the instruments sustain.

b) Battery Compartment Latch allows access to the 9V battery which is required for guitar use. Simply move the latch toward the neck and the cover will flip up and allow you to replace the battery. Please use only a high-quality Alkaline. 9V cell and observe polarity markings.

c) Mono/Stereo Select Switch allows you to select the output jack configuration. In the mono position, hook up a standard guitar cable and plug into your amp. The output will reflect the acoustic/electric blend you set with the mix control on the guitar top. In the stereo position, the output jack can receive a stereo 1/4"jack (TRS) from a "Y" cable. The lip connection will provide the magnetic pickup output while the ring connection will carry the "acoustic image" signal. The ratio of levels is still controlled by the mix knob.

d) Battery Low LED illuminates when your bat-tery: is discharged to the point where the guitar performance will soon begin to degrade. Change you battery as soon as you notice this LED.

e) Intonation Adjustment Screws provide fine adjustment of scale length to maintain the proper intonation. Clockwise rotation lengthens the scale. These are factory; adjusted.

f) Saddle Height Adjusters allow vernier adjustment of the string height above the body. These too, are factory adjusted for best performance.

g) Neck Pickup fitted to the VXT is a medium-output Humbucker that provides a warm, versatile tone.

h) Bridge Pickup likewise, is a humbuckers positioned traditionally for high articulation and bite.

i) Truss Rod Cover Screw allows access to the truss rod adjustment nut. Please refer to your Ovation User Care Guide to read about proper neck setup.

j) Pickup Volume Control adjusts the output level of all pickups. Clockwise rotation will increase volume, counterclockwise decreases it.

k) Magnetic Pickup Tone Control woks like a traditional tone control for the magnetic pickups.  Counter-clockwise rotation cuts high frequency output

l) Pickup Blend Control selects the mix of the magnetic pickup(s) and the 'acoustic image output.

m) Magnetic Pickup Select Switch is a3-way toggle that enables the neck, bridge, or both (mid pos.) pickups.

n) 1/4" Output Jack outputs a mix of acoustic image and magnetic signals in the mono mode, and separate, yet blend-controlled signals in the stereo mode
