Two identification feature shout from the bodies of American Ovation solid electrics.  The distinctive headstock, also on the acoustics, and the “patented tri-mount bridge” ..  This bridge has gone through a process of evolution but it is fundamentally the same in both looks and design, from Breadwinner to PF.  The bridge on the PF-22 is instantly recognisable as that on the very first Breadwinners.  The first bridges were a mix of metal and plastics which developed all metal construction via nylon saddles.  The tri-mount make string height adjustment a simple process and individual adjustable bridges adjust for intonation.  It is a bridge of substance and solidarity which sits well with the American designs particularly, in my opinion, with the natural woods.

It was abandoned, along with the headstock, when Ovation moved into the foreign manufacture of Strat style guitars.  

The PF-22, seen by some as a prototype for the GP, had this bridge but the GP did not, adopting instead a Gibson style bridge.
